CODEX @ The UWI 

Established through a strategic partnership with The University of the West Indies (UWI) in March 2023, CODEX @ The UWI is set to become a transformative Centre of Excellence for digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and professional development in the Caribbean and the Global South. This collaboration between The DX Alliance and UWI aims to build a globally competitive digital economy by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.


Currently in its pre-launch phase, CODEX is actively seeking partnerships and funding to realize its ambitious vision. Once operational, it will focus on three core pillars: Innovation Incubator, Digital Academy, and Collaborative Communities of Practice, each designed to drive excellence and impactful innovation.


Key Pillars of CODEX @ The UWI

1. Innovation Incubator: Fueling Tech-Driven Entrepreneurship


The CODEX Innovation Incubator will support start-ups and tech-driven projects by providing resources, mentorship, and a collaborative network to tackle regional challenges through technology and innovation.


  • Incubation Support: Access to office space, business services, and a network of mentors and experts.
  • Training and Mentorship: Guidance from seasoned professionals in business strategy, technology development, marketing, and legal considerations.
  • Access to Funding: Connection with investors and support in developing funding proposals.

2. Digital Academy: Elevating Skills and Standards


The CODEX Digital Academy will focus on training and certifying digital professionals, ensuring regional talent and solutions meet global standards.


  • Accreditation Programs: In partnership with IASA Global, offering internationally recognized certifications for IT architects and digital professionals.
  • Regional Communities of Practice: Creating professional networks to foster collaboration and peer support.
  • Focus on Excellence: Emphasizing world-class professional development to equip participants for leadership in the digital economy.

3. Collaborative Communities of Practice (CoPs)


CODEX @ The UWI will facilitate Communities of Practice that unite academics, industry professionals, and policymakers to address regional challenges and opportunities.

  • Digital Identity and Data Privacy: Establishing trust and security in the digital space.
